CYC During COVID-19

As with the rest of the world, CYC pivoted as an organization due to shelter-in-place to continue our work and impact on the community that we serve. During the beginning of shelter-in-place CYC closed all of our offices, but our work never ended. In reality, the work we did became even more important.

In the past 4 plus months CYC:

Adopted a distance learning model for school based programs
Facilitated virtual workshops for leadership, community outreach, enrichment and workforce development programs
Conducted one-on-one mental health and wellness check ins with youth
Raised funds to provide PPE for API community and healthcare workers
Distributed PPE to community partners
Distributed food at the Chinatown YMCA food pantry
Spoke out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement
Stood out against AAPI hate due to the pandemic
Promoted census education and registration
Kept streets hygienic and safe through the powerwash team
